Eye Care Services in Boynton Beach

Cataract Surgery – A procedure to remove the cloudy lens of the eye and replace it with a clear artificial lens. It is the most common type of eye surgery in the United States. When the lens becomes cloudy, it can cause blurry vision, glare, and difficulty seeing at night. During cataract surgery, the surgeon will make a small incision in the eye. The cloudy lens will then be removed and replaced with a clear artificial lens. The artificial lens is held in place by tiny stitches, which will dissolve on their own over time.
Glaucoma – Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve, the nerve that carries images from your eyes to your brain. This damage can lead to vision loss, and sometimes blindness. Treatment for glaucoma aims to lower the pressure inside the eye, which can help to prevent further damage to the optic nerve. Our glaucoma treatment is Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, a laser surgical procedure to help lower intraocular pressure.
Dry Eye Treatment – Dry eye is a common condition that occurs when the eyes don’t produce enough tears or when the tears don’t spread evenly over the surface of the eye. This can cause symptoms such as blurry vision, watery eyes, redness, irritation, and sensitivity to light. Our dry eye treatments include the iLux Demo and TearCare System.
Retina – Retinal care is the practice of maintaining the health of the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. We offer treatments for retinal detachments and tears. There are three ways we offer to treat retinal detachments and tears; pneumatic retinopexy, a scleral buckle procedure, and vitrectomy surgery.
Cornea – Corneal services are a range of medical procedures that are performed on the cornea, the clear, outer layer of the eye. Corneal problems can cause blurry vision, pain, and sensitivity to light. Our corneal services include treating corneal abrasion and erosion, pterygium and pinguecula, as well as advanced corneal transplantation.
Pediatric OphthalmologyDr. Friedman is known all across South Florida for his expertise in this field, as well as his caring demeanor and empathy towards children. Dr. Friedman specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and has been operating on children and adults for more than twenty one years, making him a great choice for your kid’s eye doctor.
Macular Degeneration – Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a condition that affects the macula, the part of the retina responsible for central vision. It is the leading cause of vision loss in people over age 60. While there is no cure for AMD, there are treatments that can slow the progression of the disease, such as taking zinc, antioxidants, and other vitamins and minerals.
Diabetic Retinopathy – A complication of diabetes that affects the blood vessels in the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. High blood sugar levels can damage the blood vessels in the retina, causing them to leak or bleed. This can lead to vision loss. If you have diabetic retinopathy, you may be at risk for other eye problems, such as cataracts and glaucoma. It is important to see an eye doctor regularly to get checked for these conditions.
