David A. Seamont, MD

Dr. David Seamont is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive cataract surgery, medical and minimally invasive surgical glaucoma management, and the treatment of external disease. He utilizes femtosecond laser and advanced technology premium lenses to tailor an individualized surgical plan that helps patients achieve their vision goals.

Dr. Seamont received his Doctor of Medicine degree from a top-ranking institution, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he graduated in the top quartile of his class. After completing an intern year in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center, Dr. Seamont returned to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he completed his surgical ophthalmology residency training.

Having performed thousands of successful cataract extractions, Dr. Seamont has a wealth of surgical experience.  He has been active in teaching and mentorship throughout his career, most recently as an attending with the Broward Health Ophthalmology Residency Program. Dr. Seamont is actively involved in healthcare leadership. He has contributed to online and peer reviewed publications, presented research at national meetings and has served as a medical director for a major eye care delivery system. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golf, guitar and fitness.
