After 8 years, Marine’s Guide Dog Retires

Marine Cpl. Michael Jernigan was the first American serviceman to lose both eyes in the War on Terror. Realizing that his life was changed forever and that he’d need help getting around, Southeastern Guide Dogs had a young dog named Brittani that was trained for just this purpose.
The two were the first soldier-guide dog pairing in the Paws for Patriots program.
