Juvederm
Juvederm™ is an injectable filler made of the natural substance hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is important for maintaining skin volume and hydration. In medicine, it is also used to relieve joint pain and treat wounds. Hyaluronic acid was first used in Europe in 1996 for a facial tissue augmentation.
Juvederm™ is used to:
- Plump up folds that run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth
- Smooth acne scars
- Fill in the prominent vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows
- Augment the hollows under the eyes
- Reduce the downward creases at the corner of the mouth ("Marionette lines”)
- Enhance thin or aging lips
We offer two types of Juvederm:
- Juvederm Ultra
- Juvederm Ultra Plus
Benefits
Because it is similar to natural substances found in your body, you don’t need to get a sensitivity test prior to Juvederm™ treatment. The results are immediate and the recovery time is minimal.
The semi-permanent filler can reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles for up to nine months. It costs less than surgery and you don’t have to undergo anesthesia (although you may choose to have a dental block), so the risk of complications is low.
